is it worth buying and is fixing expensive
looking at buying a 1998 Sierra 1500 the 4 wheel drive when the button is pushed just flashes in 4low so its not working correctly and the air bag light, brake light and security light are all on. sometimes it will not start due to security light... fuel gauge not working is all this easy repairs or costly truck runs and drives good and body is in ok shape normal wear and tear and rust just dont want to buy another TURD
also the drivers headlight is dimmer than the passengers and noticed while driving that the dash lights and the drivers headlight have a pulsation to them didnt do all the time but it is noticabale
I would avoid it, has too many issues and it is likely a TURD.
Just too many problems that can get expensive fast, security systems are the pits to diagnose, air bags are very expensive if they are bad, you have grounding issues with the lights, and an obvious charging system problem, the fuel gauge could be the common sender failure but you won't know until you test it.
Keep shopping. As everyone else has already said. Too many problems. Take the money you'd spend on fixing this truck and buy a newer one with no, or at least less, issues. HTH. -Jim
