get a NEW battery...disassemble and wirebrush the 1/0awg Negative battery cable as it attaches to the chassis ground...get the point where the lug attaches nice and corrosion free, and clean the lug too...bolt them together to assure 300 cold cranking amps and to supply a GOOD ground to the chassis and components of the dashboard~

I assume you have tried jiggling the wheel back and forth (clockwise and counterclockwise) as you try to turn the key.

yes we have this is ever since the battery went dead from the door left open they tried to back it out of the driveway with the battery being dead & ever since the key will not turn @ 1st the gear shifter would not go past reverse, but with some strength i got the gear selector to function in all the gears goes in park & all the gears but the key does not turn.also the steering wheel does not lock at all yes we did charge & test the battery*the battery is 90% good

Went to start my Yukon this morning and the key would not turn. The wheel is not even locked, we tried locking it and it will not. I cannot even put the gear in N, it wont even move. Any advise?
