99 ford windstar water pump replacement?
Coolant spraying out the left side of
the engine behind the pullys. White
smoke out the exhaust and coolant
doubling back out the cap. What would
the job entail to remove the water
pump or is this something worse like a
blown head gasket?
White steam coming out the exhaust is a sign of coolant burning in combustion. That points to a head gasket problem or a cracked head; this is pretty much confirmed by compression in the cooling system causing coolant to evacuate out the radiator cap. The spray seems like a bad water pump and maybe this has gone on so long that the engine has been running hot and caused the head gasket problem.
I'm replacing the Waterpump tomorrow. Ill take a look at the heads and find out. Thank you
