Stop! If you keep tightening it, you destroy something. You need to get auto on floor and remove torque convertor. Have an inspection of the lugs and the surfaces. If ok, then install convertor (new seal optional, but advisable). The convertor has to go in all the way. It's s/ts a mission, but rotate it and persevere. Then the trans should fit up flush without pulling it up on the bolts. If you can turn the convertor with a screwdriver when auto bolted up, you're ok. Good luck, and let's hope you ain't damaged the pump. You've prob sorted it by now, but I've only just signed up. Paul.
