Are the ZR2 trucks really that costly?
My brother says the ZR2s are costly n says the breaks have to be replaced
every 3 months at a cost of 600.each...he says they were made wrong... I
want to buy a 2002, n now I'm heart broke, cuz something I want so bad, is a
supposed "piece" of junk... I've wanted this truck since birth, well, ever since
they came out(a long time!) Are they that bad?
You know, I don't know about the truck but if he is putting on 50,000 miles in three months time, then I could see it. He has to be putting on the low grade pads which will were out fast. If he was putting on original equipment pads, they are warrantied and replacement wouldn't cost. He just don't want you to have a truck like his...
...your last statement, that's exactly what I thought. Thanks.
Cheap pads wear quickly. Metallic pad wear longer, but excessive braking will warp the rotors. Change to slot drilled or cross-drilled rotors and semi-metallic pads and you should both be fine without spending $600 every 3 months to service the brakes.
Thanks you guys, you have helped...A LOT!
