my daughter is needing to get new tires. can she put 2 new on this week and in
2 weeks she can put the other 2 new tires on
Talk to a garage that'll sell and balance the tires. Unless all 4 tires are completely bald (in which case this is a safety hazard, replace all 4 immediately, otherwise she is risking her life, which is worse than a bit of debt) you can do this, but the garage may attempt to dissuade you. A GOOD garage will explain exactly why they don't want you to do this, but acknowledge (again unless there's a safety issue) that it's possible, though the car may handle a bit weirdly, or put more wear on the 2 new tires than if you replace all 4 at once. Just remember, and remind your daughter, that tires are important for safety. More important than staying debt free. When you stop, the tires are the final factor that let you come to a safe stop, as they are the only thing that touches the road. If the tires still have a few years to go, but the wear is getting to the point you need to replace them, this shouldn't be a bad thing. But talk to a garage you trust, a good garage. I cannot see your tires. I do not know how safe the tires are in their current condition. I cannot advise you 100% on how to safely act, I can only share my personal, laypersons (non-mechanics) opinion and advise you to talk to the proper experts. Uneven wear is something garages will try and advise you about, but two weeks shouldn't make THAT much of a difference in many cases. This is why you rotate your tires (move them around), as cars also do not evenly wear tires. Some are worse with this than others.
Do the rears first for safety.
