When I shift my 2005 GMC Envoy into drive
while at a complete stop it makes a clunk
noise at times is this normal?
My Yukon does the same thing, but it is so few and far between times it happens I now just ignore it, I think it has to do with a combination of things, electronic trans controls, normal wear in the whole drive train, an some slight bushing wear in the link arms.
Alright just worried because I have to travel for work. Thank's for the comment.
If it's like you say then I wouldn't worry about it too much, just make sure you keep tabs on the fluids and gear lube levels. On my old Tahoe it started doing that, at first it was just a slight little bump then one day it started to give me a double clunk on every take off, so,I knew that was too much and started checking things out, found both rear driveline u-joints had excess movement, replaced them both and that was that, I suspected the same on my Yukon but nope they are still tight.
