95 geo leaking trans fluid

I put a new axle shaft assembly  on my 95 geo
prism and now the fluid is leaking out where the
shafts goes into the trans.  Did I forget to do
something

It must need a seal in the trans. It does not have fluid to the axle, so must be seal leaking where the shaft exits the trans before the axle connection. Sorry axle has to come back out.
