How often must timing belt on Tracker 1.6 liter engine be replaced?

There is sure a lot of debate on if your Tracker is an interference engine. Or not. Got curious when this question came up heberz, and: http://www.suzuki-forums.com/suzuki-sidekick-escudo-vitara-geo-tracker/57250-1997-geo-tracker-interference-engine-not.html ...the thread goes back and forth, with most saying NOT, some saying YES, yet others: The tolerances are so close that it actually depends on the thickness of the head gasket, temperature of engine if it were to snap, 0.01 (inches or mm, not sure) THAT close. But this is from Geo service manual below, click to size up. Bottom line, B-Mark is right. Don't take any chances.
