Ford Bantam 1800 Diesel

1 Answer

40

Hi there Had the same issue, battery fine, glow plugs fine, compression fine, lots of white smoke while cranking. I replaced the oil filter and oil with 5W40 full synthetic. She starts on the first turn now. Diesel oil builds sludge and this created resistance and reduces the crank speed when attempting to start the engine.
