Ford Bantam Leisure 2001 model is not engaging gears when running the engine

If the tranny fluid is good and the shift cable is good then you should probably take it to a shop , aside from solenoids and a few sensors there's not much you can check . Yours may not have those .

Check for Air in the clutch hydraulics. It could be that the clutch kit might need replacing.
