what is bluebird?
A japanese souped up Sentra
We used to get bluebirds in Australia too. There was a few versions of the bluebird in japan. The most exciting versions were the SSS versions, which came out with SR20DET engines, 4wd (i believe it was basically the same ATESSA system as the GTR's), and a few other goodies. The U12 SSS was popular in rallying i believe, with a factory nissan team in local japanese rally championship. In australia, we also got a bluebird built in the early 80's... Up to 1984(ish). The Aust version came with a very boring CA20, which was a 2 litre 4 cylinder, putting out less than 100hp. Later versions had a fuel injected CA20E, but they werent much quicker. The Japanese version of this bluebird came out with a turbo engine... possible the FJ20ET. They were raced in the Group C touring car championship, and even the factory Nissan team in Australia used these cars, with varying amounts of success. There is a bit on the net about bluebirds, and some very nice examples around too. Google 'em. Hope that helps.
A supper ud sentra? don't be ridiculous! The Bluebird is a totally diferent Nissan, It came with three diferent engines. SR18DET, SR20DET and SR24DET (US). It's a medium sedan with great interior space, and a great Acceleration. It doesn`t compare to a Sentra. It's Also called Nissan Altima SSS
Depends on the type of bluebird.. As the guy above said, ca20 and ca20e and such.. I have one at home with a stock standard CA20 in it.. It goes fine. I think i've heard of some series 3 bluebirds that came with SR20's.. This may be just some delusion of mine.. It's possible they've come out with any of the other 4 cylinder engines at the time, i mean, the CA20 is out of a pintara, so you'd at least expect there to be some CA18's in them somewhere. Also, Pinnies go pretty hard.
