2000 ford explorer gear problem
When putting in reverse everything is fine. When in gear its not moving, I need to wait several minutes to finally move
Check tranny fluid level,
manual or automatic
check vacuum lines
does it work in the 321 of the PRND321 on the dash for the gear selector
@crumbob works in 1 not in 2 (doesn't have a 3) and reverse, but you need to wait 2 to 3 min before starting to move. This can be caused by a bad trans fluid level?
or a very dirty trans filter you should get it change make sure to put the right trans fluid in
@crumbob you need to change all the fluid?. Thank you
yes whenever you change trans fluid the filter comesw with a filter and a new pan gasket you will have to drop the whole trans pan
Before throwing good money at it, bring it to a local repair facility (no national chain) and explain the problem and have them test it. Fluid and filter should be changed every 40K. Has your's been changed in 14 years?
