Loss of power
Hey guys, ive got a 1997 volvo s40 t4 and im noticing some loss of power, i was wondering if it was more likely to be a problem with the turbo or the fuel pump?
das not rite, u need power to lose it.. after all its a VOLVO !!!
As with your rugby team, you seem to be all talk and no action. Sporting a Mazda 3, with what can only be descirbed as a flaccid 148bhp http://autos.yahoo.com/2007_mazda_mazda3/. Aside from your terrable taste ( a holden commadore.... yikes!) you abviously dont know enough about cars to justify a provisional drivers licence, let alone the right to call a 200bhp Volvo underpowerd. You sir are as we say in Ireland a " Plonker" give yourself some education and have a read about a proper car. http://www.topgear.com/UK/volvo/s40/road-test/t4-2.0-turbo ... the turbos were notorious for lunching themselves how many km on the car and have you ever replaced the fuel filter or pump before if not the fuel filter is great place to start and a can of injector cleaner will be good for testing fuel starvation due to a clog then disconnect the turbo inlet and outlet hoses check for oil in either side to check turbo seals to check turbo vanes grab the shaft and try to wiggle from side to side this test shaft play which was notorious on the mitsubishi turbos if the issue exist its your turbo if not go with the fuel pump
Yeah thanks guys, it turns out it was the fuel pressue regulater..
