I drive a 1996 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6 Magnium engine. I have 140,000+ Miles. Will it do any Harm to run a 10w-40 Oil in this engine? Please explain the reasons for your answers so I can understand.

100°F during Summer months & on Average
50-60°F during winter months. Very rarely
does the temperature drop below 40°F.

With the mileage on the engine running a 10W-40 shouldn't be a problem in your area as the engine clearances have opened up through the years and miles, in fact it could improve your oil pressure. 10W-40 used to be the standard weight back in the 70's right up through the 80's, The only thing you might want to do is on the colder mornings is let it idle a while longer before putting it under a load, no matter what oil you have in there the engine still has 140K+ miles and those engine as not the strongest but will last if taken care of.
