I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota 318 with bad motor. What other motors will interchange without modifications Thanks

There are two 318 engines,one with the EGR valve hole and one without ther years that will fit are 94 to 97

Will I need to change the computer or anything ? If the motor has the EGR whole and I don't need it. can I just block the EGR space ?

no its all good, if you do not have a egr valve and the one you get does, there should be no problem blocking the passage with a plate. Either way the autowreckers will ask what egine you have if you go that way

Are there any other models that will be a direct replacement like Durango, Ram Jeep. etc and years

I use a program that the auto wreckers use, and It only lists the Dakota, so im thinking no, But you could call a autowrecker to be sure.

I'm not sure but I have a 97 Dodge Dakota extended cab 318 5 speed manual needs transfer case but I still drive it going to be selling it next couple days was going to take tires off it and hood hinges make me an offer runs good
