what causes my transmission to act like its in low gear then nothing after awhile it will go again
Yeah. Your transmission is most likely failing. Dodge made horrible transmissions. Take it to a transmission shop.
Wrong answer, Dodge never make horrible things how ever you need to take care of your truck and that would be my guess. I know about Durango´s out there driven more than 300.000 miles on original tranny with nothing done unless what is needed which is a fluid and filter change and band adjustment if you got 5,2 or 5,9 l engine but 4,7 don´t have bands so not needed there. Take your truck to a good tranny shop and have them ceck it out it could be a bad sensor or a rebuild, can´t tell unless you take it to a sood shop you can trust.
Sorry Sigurður, I would agree that Dodge transmissions were not bad when they were maintained properly. The transmission is the most intricate and complex part of a vehicle and it is often the most neglected.
