Can excessive rain affect the neon's performance?

Asked by Jun 16, 2013 at 07:15 PM about the 2002 Dodge Neon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought used 2002 neon.  Ran fine on test drive.  Drove home through excessive rain storm, lots of water pooling on roads.  When I went to drive later in the day, car ran but making a loud noise.  Didn't appear to be related to motor, but to more exhaust issues.  After about 24 hours after this, car doesn't appear to be making noise it was?????
