Fuel Sending Unit

Asked by Oct 07, 2015 at 10:16 PM about the 1996 GMC Sierra C/K 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

4 tube lines coming off sending unit. Need to replace all - need to know what
they are called/referred to. 3 lines go up to front of truck, one to filling spout. I
assume one of three is supply, another is return. Am I Correct and What is 3rd
line for? All Fuel line kits I've found online only supply 2.

You have, going to the engine: fuel supply, fuel return, and EVAP system vacuum. For the EVAP line the replacement hose/line must be marked "vapor". This is important! Regular fuel line used here will deteriorate quickly. I believe that the 4th line going to the filler neck is also an EVAP line too, but I'm not 100% sure on that one. HTH. -Jim
