carburetor truck will start but will not stay running

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 86 Custom Deluxe 20 with a 350 small
block. the truck will start up no problem as long as
my foot is partly on the gas as soon as I let off gas
the truck will idle down and die. any suggestions

Do the maintenance, tune up, timing, plugs, wires, etc. it could be that the 30 year old carb needs a rebuild-
