2004 dodge neon over heating and the top hose collapses. What could be wrong?

are you losing radiator fluid?

Doesn't seem to be. I was told that the radiator cap may not be releasing the pressure like it should. I've replaced it and the hose. Gonna try the thermostat next. Hoping to rule out the head gasket
