Why won't my quadrajet open up on rebuilt Chevy small block

So I assume you mean the secondaries, check the little lockout arm that is held in position by the choke housing, make sure it moves freely when the choke is fully off, or else the secondaries are locked closed.

yes tennis shoes remembers the good old days , that choke spring has to let the rod drop all the way down freely from the opposed side and release the lockout lever .or just remove that garbage and don't nail it till it warms up to eliminate stumble
