i have a 1973 Scottsdale... and wondering what wiring harness i need to install an LT1 motor. i was told that i need a new one.

is it a corvette lt1 or a camaro/firebird lt1? the accessories make the difference. You need the harness for the one you have, the ecm, and you need to know the year of the engine due to misc sensors on the block. Then you need to have the ecm custom tuned to remove vats from it so you dont need a chip in the key to start it. I did a similar swap from a 95 vette to the 87 trans am. The easiest way would be contact painless and get a harness from them..

give summit racing a call, they sell several custom harnesses (including painless) specifically for a late model LT motor going into an older application that will plug and play perfectly and only come with what you need instead of snipping and praying a stock harness of an LT car ; ) 1 800 230 30 30
