I have a Chevy 1500 siverado pickup it won't shift unless I let off the pedal I replaced the tranny filter and fluid and put Lucas stop slip in it still acting up ways wrong need help please and thx

You have a 700 correct? The detent/kick down cable adjustment is crucial. If it's too tight you get late shifts and harsh shifts. If too loose you burn up the trans. It has to be adjusted to the point just a little tighter than no slack on the cable. If nobody has messed with it recently or the throttle body then it shouldn't have messed up. My honest opinion is it sounds like the governor has failed. It's under a dome plate near the tailhousing
