Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Truck will start and run great. BUT, once I shut if off, it won't restart and the engine just sounds like it's flooding. I haven't replaced any parts yet because I'm not sure which one to start with. It acts like it is getting too much gas.

This car has a carb? If yes, there is your problem- carb rebuild or a new carb- your choice-
It does have a carb. It also has a throttle body injector, so I wasn't sure which part the problem might be occurring in. Thanks for any other input you might have.
OK- your truck has a throttle body injection system- that is different than a carburetor- it is a simple form of fuel injection- as you suspect, the engine is probably flooding when you try to restart it warm- this is controlled by an engine management system (computer) but I think the problem could be in your cold start valve- you might have to overhaul the throttle body, they do get worn- if you are getting lower than average gas mileage, that indicates that you are running rich, too much gas going into the engine- take it to a mechanic who knows about TBI- with luck, someone slick might be able to adjust it-
make sure one of the injectors arn't stuck open. If you look at them when someone cycles the key on to build fuel pressure (not start but ON) a leaky injector will squirt fuel immediatly
