Jack up the car on the drivers front side and remove the wheel. Then take off the inner fender panel in the wheel well and you will see the battery compartment towards the front.

It's possible to do it without removing the wheel. Just turn the wheel to the far side (left or right, I don't remember) You have less room to play but it's not so difficult.
