i replaced the starter on my car and now it wont crank

Your saying the starter motor won't crank the engine? Usually you can take old starter off, lay it on the ground, hook up jumper cables properly from charged battery to starter motor, at the least, the starter motor should kick out drive gear and spin, if it won't even do that, the starter motor is faulty. Make sure your battery has a full charge, battery cables/connections all good? Note the starter relay in diagram, The load side, right side in diagram, and the control side, left side, in diagram. For testing, it might be possible to use jumper wire between the two terminals on load side of relay, relay unplugged. The starter motor should crank the engine, using the jumper, you are bypassing the control side of relay. If you try that make sure vehicle is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. Make sure vehicle can't move. If it will crank with the jumper, but, not w/o, the problem is on control side of relay. In the diagram, you can see components on control side of relay. Maybe the problem is the neutral or clutch switch, depending on the tranny?
