1996 Sebring Back Up Lights

Asked by Aug 22, 2012 at 03:59 PM about the 1996 Chrysler Sebring

Question type: General

If a driver pulls over on a shoulder and shifts from drive to park, do the back up lights flash for an instant?  An email to mjhardcastle@gmail.com would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is perfectly normal. There is a switch, either at the base of the steering column or in the console (if so equipped), that turns on the reverse lights. Any time the shift lever passes through the reverse gear, even if just for an instant, you'll notice the lights flash or "blink". Kinda like flicking a wall switch, in your house, on & off real fast. Same concept. HTH. -Jim
