I got a 68 Chevy pick up with a 327, it wont go over 25mph and it turns of on me if i let go of the throttle

First thing to do is set the idle speed correctly. The truck will need to be in neutral if it's a stick or drive (parking brake set) if it's an automatic transmission. Make sure it's fully warmed up with the choke plate fully open. Hook up a tachometer and using the adjustment screw on the side of the carburetor near the throttle linkage set the idle speed at 900 RPM (stick) or 600 RPM (automatic). This will prevent stalling when you let off the accelerator. HTH. -Jim
