Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car runs perfectly fine until it reaches
running temp, and the service engine light
comes on. When the service engine loght
comes on it wont idle at all because it will
die, and if im driving at any speed it will
putt, jerk, and run like crap. But when the
service engine light isnt on it runs loke a
brand new car??

Go have the engine light scanned, they will tell you the issue,or bring code back here and post it,and some one here will respond.

I have taken it out to advanced auto here in Bremen, Indiana, and the service engine light won't stay on long enough to run the codes. I have also brought it out to my cousins house, he is a mechanic, he has been for 35-40 years, he also tried to run diagnostics on it and the light again wouldn't stay on long enough to run the codes. The only time it runs badly is when the service engine light comes on. When the lights not on she runs like a top. I have been asking around and I can't seem to find the logical or correct answer for it.
