Flashing check engine Light

Asked by Aug 28, 2016 at 08:26 PM about the 2000 Chrysler Cirrus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Chrysler Cirrus 2000has 140,000 miles
has just started to shake very noticeably
and the check engine light randomly blinks
and a light knocking noise can be heard. Im
3hrs from home without funds to take to a
mechanic shop. Is it safe to drive home
without causing permanent damage?

Hard to say, how lucky do you feel? From your description, it sounds like a misfire, knocking noise is not good. 3 hour ride? I personally wouldn't.
