Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 PT was overheating, losing coolant. I picked it up for what the junk yard was going to pay. I was told the water pump was out, and since the engine must be removed in order to change that water pump, I got a bargain. I found that it only had a crack in the resevior, which I promptly replaced for fifteen bucks from County Line Autoparts East of Lee's Summit MO. I had to give them a plug. Anyhow, I was letting the engine idle after a test drive of a couple miles. I wanted to see if it would overheat again. I let it run for twenty minutes while speaking with a neighbor, and it just quit. I can'tget spark now, so I need help diagnosing. I got no codes, other than a couple that it had before. I don't think the O2 sensor needing attention should have caused a catastrophic failure like this. Please could someone point me in the right direction. I'd love to get this car running and get some use out of it, then bless someone with it as a gift.

No Spark? Check your ignition components/wiring and battery. I'd be surprised if the engine is OK since it overheated. The head might have warped requiring engine work. But if you can get it going again on the cheap, then great.
