Does the value of a classic car go down if you change the original color?

Asked by Medicman101 Jun 22, 2020 at 08:18 PM about the 1964 Pontiac Catalina

Question type: Car Customization

does it hurt the value of a car if you change the color of a classic car?

1 Answer

To a collector it would go down by the cost to repaint it. In other words around ten grand. If you go with a correct color for that year/model you won't have any problems except you can't expect top dollar.
