74 VW bucks and stalls

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 74 bug runs OK when cold, but bucks and stalls from a full stop at a light or stop sign.  VW shop told me I need a
carburetor to match the diatributor.  Never had this issue with my '67.  The distributor is an after market of some
kind, but I can't see how he carburetor and distributor are interconnected.  Any ideas?

what a crock! the functions are mutually exclusive. Really I recommend a so a solid state ignition...they aren't that tough to install- http://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-Beetle-Bug-Bus-Type-3-Ghia-Electronic- Ignition-Conversion-Kit-for-SVDA-034-/310647197629? pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ABeetle%7C Make%3AVolkswagen&hash=item4854040fbd&vxp=mtr

It could be a simple issue like changing out fule pump, points,or bypass screw.ot sounds like the problem is something that has to do with metal expansion from warming up look for what changes from when it's cold
