Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a chrysler serbering 2004 i think its a 2.4 nd
with the temperature was always on the first line
below halfway would heat up just a little then go
back down but now it stays in the middle or goes
up the halfway mark to the first mark about it then
go back to the halfway mark unless i drive at 65-70
mph then it goes to the first mark right below the
hallway mark it has oil and water in the engine
coolant box. I replaced the thermostat march 16

My 96 JXI slowly kept creeping hotter and hotter, til it finally overheated every time the car got hot. Discovered it was the AF filler neck! It was alminum and it had pin point corosion holes in it, and under pressure, steamed out my af, and also caused over heating. I replaced the neck, added AF, bounced the car by the front bumper a few good times to get any air bubble to rise and go out, then capped it up, and never had a problem since!!!! WORTH checking if you have overheating issues!!!
