Why does my car stall?

Asked by Mar 31, 2015 at 11:41 PM about the 2004 Chrysler Sebring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello there everyone! I'm not familiar
when it comes to cars cause my
pops was never around but to my
question! When I push down on the
gas, my car begins to kind of lag. I
notice on the rpm meter, I believe it's
called, as I'm pushing down on the
gas the meter begins to
lag/shake/stall when the meter
reaches two. Also, Im not sure if this
info will help but this usually happens
when my car is low on gas or when I
have the ac on for a certain amount
of time. The only way I get around
this problem is pulling over, turning
my car off then on, then the lag goes
away.

Since it happens when you're low on gas I'd suspect either a dying fuel pump or bad fuel pressure regulator. The RPM gauge is called the tachometer, for future reference. HTH. - Jim
