new replacement top won't go down

2005 crossfire...had a new top put it will not go worked before I took it in...there is a cord dangling along the inside of the track( one end connected the other isn't).. on.right side the cord is connected and very tight..could this be the problem and how to fix it...thanks  very frustrated and angry when you drop the money and it doesn't work  and the business thinks it never worked before I brought it in..  geezzz
