Could be a security system problem. Are you using a new or different key? Turn on the headlights and try to start it. Do they get dim or go out? Or do they stay nice and bright? -Jim

Your old starter may have been OK. If the ignition switch has gone bad, a new starter, battery, etc. will not make it start. Check and replace the ignition switch if it is bad. You can test it by turning the key to start and seeing if you have 12V to the starter. There is also a starting solenoid that could be bad, if you are not seeing voltage at the starter terminal.
