anyone know anything about SU carbs?

Question type: Car Customization

i have a 72, it was originally fuel injected, dumbass slapped on SU carbs.  I have got to get them adjusted right.  The car blows black smoke out the back and wants to run like a tractor every now and then.  Any Ideas?

A bit late, but the only solution is: Sell the car to me, and the problems are gone!!! :)
