I have a 2002 TBird whose temperature gauge malfunctions and registers overheating, then when the engine is turned off, it resets to normal. What is going on?

Could be in wiring or dash or sensor itself or PCM. Have some one move the temp sensor wiring while you watch to see if it fluctuates.
