is there such thing as a 2002 with an E46? Is it even possible?

Asked by Jul 16, 2014 at 03:51 PM about the 1976 BMW 2002

Question type: Car Customization

Looking for a fun project car to work on and I'm in love with the 2002. Looks like there's plenty of room up front to drop a powerful engine in it.  Anybody out there playing around with the 2002?

Go through this link, a few have installed a M42 engine without too much work....http://www.bmw2002faq.com/forum/14-project-blogs-archive/

E46 is a chassis code for the 3 series made something like 1999-2006. A 2002 has a completely different chassis. Maybe you are referring to stuffing a big engine in a 2002 3-series?

Be prepared to replace almost everything else that makes it stop and go - like brakes, rear axle, differential, driveshaft and trans.....because alot more power will rip apart what you currently have.
