2002 cadillac deville gearshift moves but trans won't go into gear and the light on dashboard stays in park after you put it in drive or reverse

When you take it out of park it just roll like
neutral

check your x-mission linkage for connectivity.. it could have slipped off/ broke from wear.

no its not the link is still hooked up it just stay in park on the same on the dashboard

do anybody know about that's what I'm talking about
