Cadillac Deville 04 HELP

My Cadillac Deville 2004 , was towed
without my permission . The guy brought it
back. I tried to start it but it won't crank ,
and the dashboard says the shift is on R. I
tried to shift it but it doesn't read the shift
or just shifts freely. Could you please help?

Turns out it was the shifter cable. Towing trucks tend to shift it in N without using a key
