Toyota Corona St 190 jerks and does not run smoothly on acceleration. I replaced plugs but it did not solve the problem.

Are you in the UK? Or if you don't mind my asking, where? I ask because it depends on what engine you have. 1.6,1.8, 2.0 The following is generic to all. Could be lots of things. Starving for fuel, clogged injector nozzle(s), fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, spark plug wires, water in fuel (especially if you habitually keep it low in tank) Do an old-fashioned test, take off a spark plug wire, stick a phillips screwdriver in wire... place stem of screwdriver about ΒΌ" from plug end, or any ground have a helper try to start and see if you have a nice cobalt-blue spark. If it's yellow, that's a weak spark. May need coil, distributor cap, plug wires.

If it is the 1.8 (7A engine) check the vacuum activated manifold butterfly. This is attached to the throttle body, it control the flow of air to the intake under various situations. It is not sold separately. I had to modify one from a Toyota wish engine using the bracket from the corona to get it working.
