Key stuck in ignition

My 2006 cts won't start the key is stuck in the
ignition I can't  turn the car off the battery is new
could this be the ignition switch? ??

My son just had this happen to his 2010. The alternator went bad and drained his battery and the key was stuck.

The ECM located right upfront under hood and easy to replace, has 4 bolts and one strap wire However you may want to get an ECM already programmed so you don't have to find a mechanic or Cadillac dealer and pay them $100 to $150 to program the new ECM. If that does not un-stick the key the next step is to go directly under the steering column find the two little hols, push upward with a ball point pen in the hole that is opened while pulling key... Last step is to re-program the security system by turning key to on position for 10 minutes, wait then turn back, repeat this step 3 ties in half an hour......
