Cannot Get Overdrive on/off button to work. Light doen't come on. 2002 Ford Escape

Overdrive switch does not work. No light

I'd first look to find out if the O/D bulb in the guage cluster in the dash is burned out. If that is good, look at the switch/wiring on the shifter.
