need location of belt tensioner on 1988 gmc jimmy 4x4 350
I'm guessing the screeching noise from my jimmy, might be the belt tensioner
but I have no idea of what it looks like or where its located.please help??
It keeps tension on the serpentine belt, should be in the front of the engine....http://www.jcwhitney.com/1988-1988-gmc-jimmy/dayco-oe- replacement-accessory-belt-tensioner/p3050200d50274y1988- 1988j1.jcwx
I'm not trying to be mean but if you can't find the tensioner on a serpentine belt 350 you need to consider a shop. If it was a snake it'll bite you as soon as you open the hood
YOU ARE MEAN,YOU ANAL RETENTIVE MORON.HAVE OR 6 BELTS ON MY MOTOR.NOT JUST 1!!
So it's got the older style belt drive and accesories that use the v belts. No need for the name calling. The reason you can't find one with the v belt setup is because there isn't one. The components are uses to tighten their belts. You should have 3 belts I think assuming you have an ac compressor still. On a v belt the power steering is the most likely to make noise, ac would be second most likely. Make sure there is no debris or fluids on the belts or pulleys.
