Why should I purchase a chevy? The one I currently own does not start because of a security problem. I want to inform any future chevy owners. They do not stand behind their product.

When I try to start the vehicle it use to take 11 minutes with the security problem. It is now taking 40 to 45 minutes and that is totally no acceptable. Under an emergency situation you need your vehicle to start. I decides on it's own term. They have made a recall on the ignition switch, why have they not made a recall on their security system. The fix I found on the internet indicates that the mechanic should  cut a wire. Why doesn't the dealership want to keep me as a customer. PURCHASE A FORD, TOYOTA, GMC, KIA, anything other than a chevy. This one has totally pissed me off. I missed visiting my brother from out of town on a limited time schedule because my CHEVY would not start. - MAKE A BETTER CHOICE

This is dumb to ask, but did you bypass the security system yet? some write ups offer the installation of a simple resistor. who would want to steal that pos anyway? they overwork the systems, you can delete them. simplify the car. dont get mad at me. google your make, model, year, and symptom, read up on it, effect repairs. have insurance, maybe someone WOULD steal it. if you want to suffer with it then write a letter to the NHTSA telling why you have the concern, the trouble, and how you manage it now, they investigate the validity across that vehicle line (all you told us was its a chevy) then they need all your info. then if the concern is valid, and your repair orders add up to a valid concern, they make decisions based on owner reported problems." just the facts ma'am". If a recall makes sense, it also has to have one causal part and be within their conception of "unsafe". Whatever they determine that to be. with common sense approach to the actual compiled evidence. your repairs can be considered for compensation back to you, but you have to have it documented, filed, and await their findings, that's what they call fair and just, but requires patience, all car makers are under these rules, they all have turds they hide under the carpet, or adverse conditions that affect based on climate, wear and tear, or abuse, or neglect, or lack of schooling of technicians, or no experience fixing them during the warranty period, etc. Try reading up on your concern, see where they are with it, give your data to help. good luck.


If you asked under the actual mk, mdl, yr, told us the repairs so far, had your personal vehicles history for us etc, there are a few guys who are regulars on here that can give simple steps, but they do not answer the subject under the incorrect heading. call a vehicle by its rightful identification and ask under its make and model at least, simplify your reports and get simple answers. do what they recommend or compare it to your own data and offer both to your choice of electrical repair tech, its a series of common sense actions you are free to take. Or get yourself legal representation and sheet the bed.
