1974 Ford Ranchero GT Towing Capacity /

Asked by Tommy Aug 27, 2020 at 02:04 AM about the 1974 Ford Ranchero

Question type: General

Hey there!  About to purchase a 74 Ranchero GT, has the 351 Cleveland in it.
Trying to figure out a couple things:

Towing Capacity
Payload Capacity

Looking to tow a wood fire pizza oven trailer that weighs about 5,000lbs only
locally, no hills, etc.  Around city streets, etc.

Wanted to make sure it could handle it before I move forward.  Thanks!

The Ranchero was a light duty "truck" I think 5,000 lbs is way too much. I would keep it down to a ton or less. Payload is probably around 500 pounds.

A full sized 1/2 ton truck or most mid sized trucks will handle that load without issue.
