my automatic 2003 ford Taurus doesn't do anything when I put it in gear,it revs up a little bit like it normally would but it does not move. Any ideas?
First thing I would do is check the automatic transmission fluid level as outlined in your owners manual. Car warmed up, in park, on a level surface, pull dipstick, should be in cross hatched area. Should be a nice red color. Let us know what you find out.
fluid is fine.,
Is it red or brown and smells burned?
IT IS RED DONT SMELL BURNED. ALSO CHECKED AXELS OKAY
Check shifter cable.Could be off at column or transmission.
checked cable it moves shifer on transmission. was just riding down rd.. and stopped moving no noise.no problem before.
It is something internal like the front pump or torque converter.
WILL CHECK IT OUT. THANK YOU.
